A 25-year-old man pleaded guilty in Cayuga County Court last week to possessing a softball-sized piece of crack cocaine and delivering it to 39 Washington St., Auburn, May 6, 2004, for the drug to be packaged and sold, Chief Assistant District Attorney Jon Budelmann said.
Rasheen Robinson, 25, of Auburn and Utica, had been scheduled to go on trial on several drug trafficking charges, but instead entered a guilty plea to a felony charge of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.
Robinson was arrested by Auburn city police exiting an apartment at 39 Washington St. A search by police found four teenagers in possession of crack, which they had cut up and packaged in preparation for selling on behalf of Robinson, Budelmann said. Those defendants were all sentenced to probation and given youthful offender treatment.
Judge Mark Fandrich is expected to sentence Robinson to six to 12 years. His sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 25.
Robinson was convicted in 2000 in Oneida County for third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.
