AUBURN - George E. Dragone, 91, of Easterly Avenue, Auburn, died Friday, Sept. 16, 2005, at Mercy Health & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born in Auburn on Nov. 5, 1913, son of Domenico and Camilla Picicci Tisci Dragone. He attended Auburn school, including the Collegiate Center. George was a tool and dye maker and retired in 1978 from the Shoe Form-DeWitt Plastics Co. He was a past secretary of the former Roman Club.
George served as a member of the New York State Guard when it was called into service during the Auburn Prison Riot.
George is survived by a daughter, Camille M. Dragone; and a son, George J. (Barbara) Dragone; two grandchildren, Eric J. (Elizabeth) Dragone and Nicholle M. Dragone; two great-grandchildren, Erica and Cohle Dragone; nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Angelina Lauricella Dragone in 2001, with whom he celebrated 60 years of marriage; a son, Thomas J. Dragone in 2004. He was also predeceased by a sister, Rose M. Dragone; and brothers, Costantino Tisci, Richard Dragone and Edward Dragone.
Friends are invited to join the family for his Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Monday, in St. Mary's Church, Auburn. with the Rev. Frank Lioi as celebrant. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. today, at the Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St., Auburn. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's School, 101 E. Genesee St., Auburn, NY 13021.
