KING FERRY - Mr. Maxwell Gardner Smith, 87, of King Ferry, died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2005, of natural causes.
He was born Sept. 16, 1917, in Sheds, N.Y., and he worked for International Harvest until he moved to King Ferry, and was a partner of A&M Service until he retired.
He was a veteran of World War II, and a member of the Masonic Lodge.
He spent his last few years at the Eastern Star Home in Oriskany.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Smith, and he is survived by his son, George (Jeff) F. Smith, Nashport, Ohio; his daughter, Judith Durden, Winter Haven, Fla.; three grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, at the Ledyard Methodist Church.
