Teams needed for touch football league
A touch football league will start September 18 and extra teams are needed.

The entry fee is $175 and their will be a captains meeting at Spinouts at 7 p.m. on Sept. 13. For more information, contact Jim Debois at 253-6407 during the day or at 364-5229 after 5 p.m.

St. Alphonsus to hold CYO sign-ups

St. Alphonsus CYO is holding sign-ups for a basketball and cheerleading program after Masses on the weekends of Sept. 10 and 11, as well as Sept. 24 and 25.

The sign-ups will be held at the parish center at 89 E. Genesee St. in Auburn. Children grades two through eight who are registered members of the parish or attend a local Catholic elementary school are eligible to participate.

The cost is $40 per child or $50 for two or more children in the same family. For more information, contact the church rectory at 252-7261.

Coed dodgeball starting up at YMCA

The Auburn YMCA-WEIU coed dodgeball league for ages 18 and up starts Friday, Sept. 16 and meets every Friday night at 6:45 p.m.

Each team consists of six to 10 people. For more information, contact the YMCA at 253-5304.

AHS cross country to hold breakfast

A pancake breakfast to benefit the Auburn High School boys and girls cross country team will be held at the Knights of Columbus on 47 Market St.

The breakfast is from 8-11:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 18. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children with children under five free.

The all-you-can-eat breakfast includes juice, coffee, sausage, eggs, french toast and pancakes.

Pregnancy fitness classes at YMCA

Pregnancy fitness classes will be offered at the Auburn YMCA-WEIU beginning Sept. 12.

Classes will be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Participants must be at least three months pregnant and bring a doctor's permission form to class.

The class is free to Y-members and $60 for the general public. For more information, contact the YMCA at 253-5304.

CNY Storm All-Stars placement sessions

The CNY Storm All-Stars, a competitive cheerleading program in Syracuse, will be holding placement sessions for mini prep (second grade and below) from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11 and special needs (open to anyone ages eight and up with a mental or physical disability) from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15.

There will be no cuts. These two teams will practice once a week and will compete locally.

Stingrays holding clinic, tryouts

The Auburn YMCA Stingray Swim Team will run its annual clinic and try-outs for potential new competitive swimmers ages five and above.

Swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards unassisted. The sessions will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursday, September 13, 15, 20 and 22. For more information, contact the YMCA at 253-5304.
