Child safety event set for Saturday
The Auburn Police Department and the Spafford Auto Group will hold a Child Passenger Safety Event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Spafford Auto Group, 318 Grant Ave.
Individuals should bring in their seats and cars to have trained technicians check them.
KeyBank taking donations for aid
KeyBank is accepting donations for Hurricane Katrina victims on behalf of the American Red Cross. Through its corporate matching gift program, KeyBank is matching hurricane relief donations from its 21,000 employees across the nation.
Individuals will be able to give to the American Red Cross at any KeyCenter.

Daniel Fessenden, executive director of Cornell Agriculture & Food Technology Park, will speak at a Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce luncheon Wednesday, Sept. 14.
The event, which is open to the public, will be held from noon to 2 p.m. at the Springside Inn.
Fessenden will discuss his vision for how the park will play a vital role in Finger Lakes economic development.

State transportation holding open house
There will be a New York State Department of Transportation open house meeting 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15 to discuss two culvert projects on Route 90 in Cayuga County.
The meeting will be at the Union Springs Village Hall, 26 Chapel Road.
The projects are the replacement of the culvert at Creager Road in Union Springs and the rehabilitation of the culvert at Kings Corner Road in Ledyard.
