A 20-year-old Auburn man is accused of sodomizing and forcing a 12-year-old boy to perform oral sex July 14, Auburn police said.
George Alfred Caswell, of 17 Wright Ave., was arrested by the Auburn Police Department this week on the felony charge of first-degree criminal sex act and a misdemeanor charge of fifth-degree criminal use of marijuana.
Caswell also is accused of smoking a marijuana blunt with the 12-year-old before the alleged sexual assault occurred in a tent in Caswell's backyard, police said.
It took the 12-year-old three weeks to tell a sibling about the incident, and it took the sibling more time to convince the boy to tell his parents, police said.
When the parents learned of the incident, they came to police on Monday. Wright's bail was set in Auburn City Court at $15,000 cash or $30,000 bond.
His next court appearance is scheduled for 10 a.m. Sept. 1.
