Zimmer, Krickovich win championships

Ed Krickovich Sr. was dethroned as the champion at Highland Golf Club. His youngest son, Kyle, won the title with a two-day total of 140.
Bob Evans, the 2003 champ, took second with a 142.

Jean Zimmer had a two-day total of 168 in the Highland Park Ladies Club Championship.

Sue Cunliffe was the runner up with a 170, and Sue Nagle took third, shooting 174.

Scramble tournament coming to Highland

There is still room left to play in a three-person scramble on Sunday, Aug. 28.

There will also be tee times available to play for $15 greens fees.

There will be contests and raffles.

Highland to host

lefties competition

There will be a Lefties Tournament on Sept. 9 at Highland Golf Club.

All players must be left-handed.

There will be a shotgun start at noon, and the cost is $65. Prizes and a buffet are provided.

Turning Stone Invite coming next month

The inaugural Turning Stone Invitational will be held Sept. 26-27 at Turning Stone's Atunyote Golf Club.

In its first year, the tournament will be a traditional Skins Game, featuring PGA Tour professional John Daly, Champions Tour professional and 2004 U.S. Senior Open champion Peter Jacobsen, LPGA Tour professional Natalie Gulbis and an undetermined celebrity.

Leary victorious in Syracuse tourney

Andy Leary of Throop won the 10 -and 11-year-old division of the City of Syracuse's Mayors Cup Junior Championship held on Aug. 17 as part of the Salt City Games.

Leary earned a place in the finals by winning the July 28 qualifier.

Leary attends Port Byron Schools and works with PGA Professional Tony Biata.
