The federal sentencing of an Auburn man convicted of child pornography charges has been postponed again.
Kevin Shwaryk, 51, of 17 Morris St., will be sentenced at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6 in U.S. District Court in Syracuse.
His sentencing was scheduled for Monday, but his attorney asked for another adjournment, Assistant U.S. Attorney Lisa Fletcher said.
Shwaryk pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in January to a federal charge of possession of child pornography. He also pleaded guilty in Cayuga County Court in November 2004 to a state felony charge of possession of a hard-copy pornographic picture of an underage child engaged in a sexual act.
Centro ridership went up in August
Ridership this month on the Centro bus system in Auburn is 27 percent higher than ridership numbers taken last August, according to the Central New York Regional Transportation Authority.
The increase comes on the heels of substantial changes to the fleet and route system of Centro of Cayuga County. In April 2004, Centro introduced a new fleet of "low-floor" buses in Auburn, featuring air conditioning, electronic destination signs and mobility ramps. A new route system introduced in June 2004 reduced the need for riders to transfer bus routes.
Some monthly comparisons show an increase of more than 40 percent over the same month from the previous year.
