Late-night search for man missing in lake
Emergency officials were called to Emerson Park Thursday night, after witnesses reported a boat sinking and one man missing.
Emergency workers with bright lights used several boats and a helicopter to search Owasco Lake. Police and fire department workers established a staging area near Emerson Park in Owasco about 9 p.m. and continued searching the water late into the night and early Friday morning.
One man walked out of the water and past onlookers and emergency officials as they searched the water. When he was asked to remain for questioning by a Fleming firefighter, he took a swing at the firefighter and took off.
