The Cayuga County Sportsmen Club is having trap, skeet, and sporting clay shooting every Sunday morning.

Gun hunter safety class to be offered
There is a New York state Gun Hunter Safety Class that will be offered from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, at Falcon Sportsmen Club. Call 252-1321 for more information and to register.
This is the new Internet, Homestudy, Computer-Based training class. Students are required to study and take quizzes via the Internet or by instructor supplied CD before attending the actual class. This pre-class study takes about 10 to 12 hours. The class study program can be found at www.ihea.com
Bass Pro going to the dogs this weekend
On Saturday, July 30, and Sunday, July 31, Bass Pro Shops will host a Dock Dogs competition.
Dog flights will be at 10 a.m., 2 p.m., and 6 p.m. Saturday. Dogs will jump at 10 a.m. Sunday, with finals at 2 p.m. The event will take place in front of the Bass Pro Shops store.

Lake Ontario fishing seminar at Bass Pro
On Saturday, July 30, fishing guide Mark Sparky of Buffalo will give two XPS Outdoor Skills Workshops on Fishing Lake Ontario From A Small Boat.
There will be two seminars that day with one starting at 11 a.m. and the second at 2 p.m.

NASCAR star to make appearance in Auburn
NASCAR driver Martin Truex, Jr., the 2004 NASCAR Busch Series Champion, will be at Bass Pro Shops Sportsman's Center from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12.
He will sign autographs on a first come-first serve basis.
The No. 8 Bass Pro Shops car will be at the store from Aug. 12 to 14. More information available at www.basspro.com or call 258-2700.
