Tim Fuller demonstrated his prowess again on the traveling big-block circuit, winning the 100-lap Advance Auto Parts "Traffic Jam" at the Grandview Speedway this past Tuesday night.
The win was Fuller's fourth on the trail and put him back atop the Super DIRT Series point standings after a one-week absence, supplanting Gary Tomkins.
Tomkins had taken the point lead on the strength of his win last week at the Autodrome Drummond facility in Quebec, but fell to second behind Fuller after posting a ninth-place effort at Grandview.
Steve Paine finished second behind Fuller, his best finish on the tour this year. Brett Hearn was third, followed by Billy Pauch and Duane Howard to complete the top five. Alan Johnson was sixth, with Meme DeSantis and Billy Decker seventh and eighth, respectively.
Tomkins was ninth, with Jeff Strunk tenth.
The Advance Series lies dormant until Wednesday, Aug. 3, when they travel back to Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Penn., in hopes of running their previously rained out show.
The World of Outlaw Sprint cars invade Fulton Speedway for the first time ever Monday, July 25. The anticipation level is high as the ultra-fast 410 cubic inch powered Outlaws take to the high-banked 3/8-mile clay oval.
The "mean 15" will all be in attendance, led by "The King," Steve Kinser. Many of the "Pennsylvania Posse" are expected as well to take on the "mean 15." The DIRT pro stocks share the card, with gates opening at 5 p.m. and racing underway at 7 p.m.
Tomkins and Fuller both claimed victories Friday night at The Brewerton Speedway. Tomkins won the rained-out make-up feature, holding off Alan Johnson to claim his third win of the year at Brewerton Speedway.
Fuller was third, with Tom Sears Jr. and Scott Prentice completing the top five.
In the nightcap, Fuller prevailed after a tremendous battle with Bob McCreadie for the number one spot.
Pat Ward was third, followed by Billy Decker and Alan Johnson.
Decker raced his back-up car in the second race after blowing up an engine in the first feature.
The Cayuga County Fair Speedway hosts a 50-lap feature for big-block modifieds tonight in celebration of its 50th year of auto racing at the Weedsport race track.
The sportsman, street stocks and four-cylinder enduros complete the slate of racing, with it all underway at 7 p.m.
