CATO - Barbara A. Van Horn, 66, of Southard Road, Cato, died Wednesday, July 6, 2006, at A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital, Fulton.
Barbara was born Dec. 31, 1918, in Auburn, the daughter of John Byrne of Auburn, and the late Mary Beer Byrne. She was a resident of Cato for the past 35 years, coming from Auburn.
Besides her father, she is survived by her husband, Charles I. Van Horn of Cato; sons, John (Emelda) Giacolone of Auburn, and Rocco (Cari) Giacolone of Ira; stepsons, William (Phyllis) Van Horn of Cato, and Charles (Laurie) Van Horn of Red Creek; stepdaughter, Karen (Doug) Demaintenon of Florida; five grandchildren, Jeremy, Joshua, Dominick, Holly and Michayla Giacolone; and sister, Mary (Bill) Large of Union Springs.
Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, July 9, at Cato Union Hill Cemetery, Mechanic Street, Cato. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Ira Volunteer Fire Department, 12305 North Road, Cato, NY 13033.
Arrangements are by the Jewell Funeral Homes Inc., Cato.
