Stanton Automatics advances to semifinals

AUBURN -Justin Lyndaker had a triple, a double and a single as Nucor defeated Stanton Automatics 13-5 to advance to the semifinals of the Auburn Little League playoffs on Tuesday.
Joel Handley added two doubles, and Cole Bardreau pitched in with a double and a single. Brenden Pheifer, Branon Bozek, Erik Guyle and Handley had singles. Nick Price had five strikeouts in three innings of work, Phiefer had two in one inning, and Lyndaker had five in two innings.

For Stanton Automatics, Jake Leader tripled, Dave Fox doubled and Dan Charles, John Shaw and Leader singled. Leader also had seven Ks in three innings, Joey DeAngelis struck out five in two innings and Bret Lawrence struck out two in one inning of work.

The Citizen jumped out to an 8-0 lead after one inning en route to a 19-7 playoff win over L. Wilson Reality. Kevin Talbot and John Rizzo each had three hits, while Pat Rizzo and Chris Wawro had two. Zack Lowe, Wawro, Talbot and Steve Pelc combined for seven strikeouts.

Anthony Sheets had two hits including a home run for L. Wilson Reality. Chandler Coleman also had two hits. Sheets and Erik Baim also combined for eight strikeouts.

Matt Noland and Lucas Dranzak each had a double and a triple as the Elks Club defeated Finger Lakes Center for Living in a playoff game, 9-3.

Cody Mitchell added two hits, while Jared Funk and Matt Brooks had one each. Dranzak had five strikeouts, Funk had four, Brooks and Matt Nolan had one each.

For Finger Lakes Center Living, Mike Tarby had three hits, while R.J. Anderson, Josh Sorenson, Luke Boedicker, Mike Gentile and Zeph Schoonmaker had one hit. Boedicker had seven strikeouts and Tarby had four.

SANDLOT

Stephen Bennett and Joseph Hess combined for a game-ending double play as Autech Plastics defeated Byrn's Trophy 11-7. Jordan Kensinger, Kaleb Sherman and Bennett each went 3-for-3.

Ivy Richards and Justin Janes played well for Byrn's Trophy, and Caleb Canino received the game ball.

AUBURN BOYS AND GIRLS

Meghan Ryan and Zeke Sliwka had four hits apiece to lead Morgan Foster Agency over Vision Care Associates 21-12. Stacey Ryan and Justin Murphy had three hits, while Tyler Quinn and Adrian Brown were cited for defense.

Jonathan Brown had three hits to lead Vision Care Associates. Mitchell Hulik, Evan Ryan and Koby Klein added two hits.
