Locals to be honored at Falcon Park
Bank of America and the Auburn Doubledays are recognizing Susan May, Jackie Chadwick and Kerry Winslow as the 2005 Bank of America Neighborhood Champions at 7 tonight at Falcon Park.

These honorees are part of a select group made up of teachers, polices officers and firefighters across the country. May is a teacher from the Auburn School District, Chadwick is a police officer from the Cayuga County Sheriff's Department and Winslow is a firefighter from the Auburn Fire Department.

Former MLB player to speak at AHS

Mike Mordecai, a former infielder for the Florida Marlins during their 2003 World Series season will be speaking at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Auburn High School.

The session is open to the public.

Highland to host memorial tourney

The 10th Michael Semple Memorial Golf Tournament will be played July 18 at Highland Golf and Country Club. The format is captain and crew and the cost is $260 per foursome.

There will be prizes for first, second and third place as well as awards for longest drive and closest to the pin.

Hot dogs and hamburgers will be available on the course and a steak dinner will follow the tournament. Tee off is at 9 a.m.

Auburn holding alumni lax game

The Auburn High Alumni Lacrosse game will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 2 The cost is $25 and includes a banquet after the game.

There will be a masters division quarter for players over the age of 30.

Little League plans for 2006 season

The Auburn Little League is now accepting petitions for the Board of Directors for the 2006 season.

Applications out for Aurora Run

The Cayuga Lake National Bank is sponsoring the Aurora Run 2.5 and one mile runs at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 9.

The Aurora Run 2005 will start in downtown Aurora and follow its traditional course through the town and the Wells College campus.

Race applications are available at the Cayuga Lake National Bank, Cream at the Top and the Auburn YMCA.

Pre-registration will be $7 and day-of-race registration will be $10. For more information, contact Bill Mullarney at 364-6744.

Hockey camp to open in Auburn

The Auburn YMCA-WEIU is offering an Off-Ice Hockey Camp, that will run August 8-12. The camp is open to boys and girls ages 8 to 15.

The cost of the camp is $25 for Y-members and $50 for the general public.

Registrations are now being accepted at the YMCA.
