An Auburn man has been charged with taking part in the Aug. 20, 2004 stabbing and robbery of a truck driver.
The Broome County Sheriff's Office arrested Lee S. Delong, 28, of 5 Grover St., Auburn Tuesday, June 21, on a charge of first-degree robbery.
Delong was the third person arrested for alleged involvement in the incident. Delong and his co-defendants allegedly robbed a Long Island truck driver at the Pilot Truck Service Center in Kirkwood.
The trucker's wallet was stolen, and one of the robbers stabbed him, Broome County police said.
The defendants were seeking money for crack cocaine, said Broome County detective Norman Rhinehart.
The trucker recovered from the stabbing, Rhinehart said.
Delong's co-defendants are Desiree R. Giamei, 20, of Deposit, who was charged with third-degree robbery, and John Trombley, of Dekalb Junction, who was charged with first-degree robbery.
In an unrelated Cayuga County case, Delong pleaded guilty in January to fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and was sentenced to one year in the Cayuga County Jail.
