Auburn YMCA summer hoops camp

The Auburn YMCA-WEIU is now accepting registrations for its summer basketball camp for youth ages 8 to 15.
The camp will take place 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. August 15-19. Auburn High varsity basketball coach Al Giannone will be the instructor.

Camp fees include 20 hours of instruction and games, a T-shirt and lunch on Friday.

Fees are $25 for Y-members and $50 for the general public.

Auburn lax summer registration in June

The Auburn Lacrosse Boosters will hold a registration session for its summer lacrosse program from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 5 at Auburn High School.

There are five divisions of competition to accommodate all skill levels and ages. Leagues will begin in July and last approximately four weeks.

Registration fees range from $100 to $170 depending the level of play. The adult team fee is $450.

Applications are now available at Champions for Life, Liberty Lacrosse and Auburn High School.

Mail-in applications will be accepted through June 16.

Divisions 1-3 are open to residents whose schools do not have a lacrosse program.

C-M to host Bikers for Boosters

The Cato-Meridian Sports Boosters will host the second annual Bikers for Boosters at 11 a.m. June 18 at TC's Place in Cato.

The event includes a continental breakfast, a T-shirt, a one-hour ride, dinner, music and a silent auction.

Advance tickets are $25, and tickets on the day of the event are $30. Tickets for riders are $15.

'The Deuce' race to be held June 24

"The Deuce" will be held at Frontenac Park on Friday, June 24 to raise funds for the Frontenac Museum and Historical Society.

The two-mile run for men/women, master men/ women and high school boys/girls starts at 7 p.m.

An 800m run for 13-and-14-year-old boys/girls starts at 7:15 p.m. and a 600m run for 10-to-12-year-olds will start at 7:30 p.m.

Awards ceremony will take place at the Union Springs village offices at 8 p.m. Registration fee is $8 per adult and $6 for children.

Auburn High boys basketball camp

The Auburn Maroons boys basketball camp will be 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 25 through Thursday, June 30.

Applications can be obtained through the Auburn Enlarged City School District physical education department.

The camp is open to any boy in the Auburn School District in grades 3-12.

Champions for Life summer programs

Champions for Life is offering summer programs for gymnastics, tennis and karate from July 11 to August 25.
