Mortimer's beats Tom Thumb; Kiwanis victorious

AUBURN - Mortimer's defeated Tom Thumb 11-7 in an Auburn Little League game on Tuesday night.
For Mortimer's, Mike Ferlenda homered and had two hits and Greg Giannotta tripled and doubled. Liam Major, Connor Soules and Kyle Hylwa each had hits.

Jamie Terry was the winning pitcher with six strikeouts.

Pat Farrell homered and tripled to lead Tom Thumb and Mike Petrosino and Matt Moore each had two hits.

ACF edged out APD 9-8 with a run in the bottom of the sixth.

David Jacobs, Joey Wilson, Erin Gordon and Kyle Proulx each had key hits.

Jared Humphrey earned the win and struck out six in the final three innings.

For APD, Nathaniel Donch struck out 10 in going the distance.

PONY LEAGUE

Kiwanis squeaked by Bellerdine Investigations 7-6 with a rally in the bottom of the sixth as Jacob O'Hearns had the big blow, a two-out, two-run triple.

Mike Charles, Cody Ladisair and Jacob O'Brien each had two hits. Charles and Ladisair were the winning pitchers.

For BI, Ryan Ringwood had two hits, Eric Gatewood had two RBIs and Tyler Weslowski singled.

Auburn Community Federal Credit Union beat Finger Lakes Center for the Living, 4-2. Joe Schillace singled, doubled and tripled for ACFCU.

Brandon Fasce and Mark Bachman each singled. Josh Sorenson and Mikey Gentile pitched for ACFCU.

Zeph Schoonmaker, Marissa Tarby and Mikey Gentile each singled for FLCFL.

CAYUGA COUNTY SANDLOT

Meyer Bookbinding outslugged 20-18 as Terry Daniels, Nasir Smith and Jordan Hastings each had four hits.

The Vietnam Vets beat Butler Services 18-6 as Morgan Malone had three hits and four RBIs. Jay Liddle had two hits and two RBIs and Meghan Kassel (RBI) and Griffen Roberts had a single.

AUBURN BOYS AND GIRLS LEAGUE

The Hometown Inspection Service Cardinals defeated the AFLAC Rockies 16-12.

Anthony Alberici (two doubles), Ryan Chalupnicki and Michael Karle (double) each had three hits. Jacob Reilly had a pair of singles.

Dan Nolan, Michael Pidlypchak, Ricky Ducayne and Jay Wilks each had two hits.
