CENTRAL SQUARE - The Skaneateles High School girls lacrosse team coasted to the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class C semifinals for the second time in the last three years with a 19-2 win over the Section IV champion Maine-Endwell Tuesday at Central Square High School.
The Lakers next play at 4 p.m. Friday at SUNY Cortland for a berth in the championship game. Skaneateles will face the winner of the quarterfinal between Section V-champion Penn Yan and Section VI-titlist East Aurora.

If Skaneateles wins in the semifinals, they will play for the championship at noon on Saturday at SUNY Cortland.

Skaneateles used a stingy defense and raced out to an 11-1 halftime lead, taking advantage of an inexperienced Maine-Endwell squad. The Lakers forced 27 Spartan turnovers.

Carolyn Davis led Skaneateles with four goals and five assists, and Stephanie Rice had five goals.
