WEEDSPORT - Harry L. Weeks, 82, of Short Cut Road, Weedsport, died Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester.

Mr. Weeks was born in Auburn on Dec. 1, 1922. He was the son of Harry A. Weeks and Pearl Dietzel Weeks.

Harry had previously worked with the Cayuga County Highway Department. In 1954, he left the highway department and began a career with the NYS Thruway Authority. At the time of his retirement, Harry held the title of Weedsport Section maintenance supervisor.

For more than 25 years, he has been a full partner with Weeks Excavating of Weedsport.

He was an avid hunter and a former member of the Weedsport Rod & Gun Club, and a former member of the Weedsport Fire Department.

Mr. Weeds is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marian Saroodis Weeks; three sons, Michael Weeks of Weedsport, Joseph J. Weeks Sr. of Skaneateles and Daniel Weeks of Baldwinsville; a grandson, Joseph Jeffrey Weeks Jr.; a nephew, James Clifford (Linda); and a great-nephew, Jeffrey Clifford.

A sister, Mary Clifford, predeceased Mr. Weeks in 1978.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at White Chapel Funeral Home, 2719 Erie Drive, Weedsport, with the Rev. Debra Thomas, pastor of Weedsport First Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Weedsport Rural Cemetery. Friends are invited to call on the Weeks family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
