HICKORY, N.C. -- Robert "Bob" H. Gibson, 72, of Hickory N.C., passed away May 11, 2005.

Bob was a loving father and devoted husband, a retired teacher from the Auburn City School District, and a former member of the Mid Lakes Methodist Church in New Hope.

Survivors include his wife, Lillian Gibson of 1648 E Ave., SE, Hickory, NC 28602; three sons, Dale Gibson of Hickory, N.C., Daniel Gibson of Moravia, and Brian Gibson of Pensacola, Fla.; a daughter, Virginia Cash of Lincolnton, N.C.; and eight grandchildren.

A memorial service was held at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at East Hickory Baptist Church.
