AUBURN - John LaFratta, 92, of 18 Madison Ave., died Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at the Auburn Nursing Home.
He was born in Italy, and had been a resident of Auburn for most of his life. John was a communicant of St. Francis Church. He had been employed at Red Star Express of Auburn as a supervisor for more than 39 years, retiring in 1980. John also was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 67 years, the former Dora Marchetta; a son, Vincent R. LaFratta and his wife, Bobbie, of Auburn; four grandchildren, John LaFratta and his wife, Heather, Denise Sessler and her husband, Edward, Jill Nightingale and her husband, James, Elizabeth LaFratta and her friend, Richard Wride; and three great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Christian and Shawn.
There are no calling hours. Friends are invited to join the family at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 21, in St. Francis of Assisi Church, for his Mass of Christian burial. Entombment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery Mausoleum.
Arrangements are by Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St., Auburn.
