An Auburn man who pleaded guilty to child pornography charges in both U.S. District Court in Syracuse and Cayuga County Court had his federal sentencing postponed from Thursday, May 19, until 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31.
Kevin Shwaryk, 55, of 17 Morris St., faces a federal sentence of up to 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and post-release supervision for the rest of his life for pleading in January to the federal charge of possession of child pornography.
Shwaryk pleaded guilty in Cayuga County Nov. 9 to the state felony charge of the possession of a hard-copy pornographic picture of an underage child engaged in a sexual act.
Shwaryk's county sentencing also will likely be rescheduled because Surrogate County Judge Mark Fandrich said he intends to make Shwaryk's state and federal sentences concurrent.
