AURORA - The Southern Cayuga boys golf team won its first match this season, defeating Marathon 258-263.
The team of eighth graders was led by Lewis Morris, who tied for medalist with a 43.
Zachary Wood followed with a 47 and Casey Underwood, Arthur Burt and Joe Troy each fired 56s.
"I'm certainly proud of the way they've gone at it," said coach Terry Underwood. "It's not easy looking down the barrel like they have all year. They've gradually improved. It's a nice accomplishment for a very young team."
Southern Cayuga competes at the IAC Championships today.
BOYS TRACK
Weedsport
TULLY - The Warriors won their first OHSL Patriot National league title in at least five years with 183 points. The next closest team was Altmar-Parish-Williamstown with 147.
Josh Galletta led the Warriors with a first-place finish in the 100 and long jump, and teamed with Jeff Williams, John Mietz and Kerry Green to win the 400 relay. Galletta also took fourth in the 400.
Mark Baker won the pole vault and Nick VanWie won the triple jump to round out Weedsport's first-place finshers. Galletta, Jerry Ripley and Williams finished one-two-three in the long jump.
Williams was second in the 200, Kerry Green was second in the triple jump and VanWie was second in the 400.
Weedsport competes in sectionals next Monday.
OHSL, Liberty American meet

ELBRIDGE - Steve Corsello broke a league, meet and school record with a 1:54.84 in the 800 meters. The Lakers finished second with 119 points to Solvay's 145.
Corsello, Dan Kelly, Carson Sio and Tory Blum combined to win the 1600 relay in 3:36.25.
Kelly won the 110 hurdles (15.88) and the 400 hurdles (59.73) and Sio was third in the 110 hurdles (16.98) and the 400 hurdles (61.09).
Josey Whitter (5-10) and Eric Aaserud (5-8) finished one-two in the high jump. Alex Kelsen was first in the discus (122-4). Tyler Nichols (13-0) and Matt Delaney (10-6) were first and third in the pole vault.
The 400 relay team of Nichols, Kelsen, Blum and Sio was third in 47.98.
Skaneateles competes in sectionals next Tuesday.

Auburn 10, Central Square 4
CENTRAL SQUARE - The Maroons won the OHSL, Colonial American title with the win.
Matt Chadderdon (assist), Adam Clary, and Jack Redmond each had two goals. Ryan Lewis and Joe Taylor each had one goal and one assist, and Brian Hoey had one goal and two assists. Craig Anderson had one goal and John Mauro and Jake Conway had assists.
Frank DiMora had five saves and Pat Cameron had one.
Auburn outshot Central Square 43-18, led in ground balls (43-31) and split in faceoffs (9-9).
Auburn (6-3, 10-8) awaits its sectional seeding tonight.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Skaneateles 16, Christian Brothers Academy 3
SKANEATELES - Skaneateles finished a perfect 13-0 in the league with the win.
Carolyn Davis led the Lakers with five goals and three assists. Emily Lotkowictz had three goals and two assists, Breanna Haggerty added three goals and one assist, Jessica Haswell had two goals, Libby Johnson had one goal and three assists, and Stephanie Rice and Lauren Vitkus each added a goal.
Danielle Murphy stopped nine shots in the net with two goals against and Whitney Johnson had one save and one goal against.
The Lakers honored Haggerty, Lotkowictz, Davis, Vitkus, Murphy, Lindsay O'Hara, Hekia Bodwitch and Cassidy Callahan on senior night.
No. 1 state-ranked Skaneateles (18-0) awaits its sectional seeding.

ELBRIDGE - Kaitlin Fuller and and Brittany Pettitt each netted three goals and one assist. Julia Demuth had three goals, Allison Bush had two, Teri Noll had two goals and an assist, Julie Bush had one goal and three assists, and Kara Humphreys had two assists.
Erica Troia stopped 10 shots in the net.
Jordan-Elbridge (15-3) awaits its sectional seeding.
East Syracuse-Minoa 14, Auburn 7
EAST SYRACUSE - Flanery Nangle and Shannon Lattimore paced the Maroons with two goals and two assists each.
Leigh Downing added two goals, Rosie Scheibel had one, Caitlin Leone had two assists and Andrea Musso had one.
Jolynn Brewer had 10 stops in the net.
Auburn ends its season at 3-15.
BASEBALL
Port Byron 5, LaFayette 1
PORT BYRON - Kevin Casler picked up the win for the Panthers, striking out nine, scattering two hits and walking two.
Matt Janusz (double), Nate Short, Nick Janusz, Andrew Perkins and Dan Spencer each had one hit.
JV SOFTBALL
Skaneateles 28, Fabius-Pompey 6
FABIUS - Emma Carro led the Lakers with four hits (double) and six RBIs. Lauren Adams also added four hits and had four RBIs.
Renee Murphy had three hits (triple) and three RBIs.
Emily Ross got the win on the mound pitching two innings with one strikeout and two earned runs.
Skaneateles is 7-4.
