Southern Cayuga budget fails by 41
Charles Cator knew he had a strong base, but was surprised by the broad support he received Tuesday night.
Cator topped all Auburn school board candidates Tuesday with 1,963 votes, and will join incumbents William Andre and David Lansford on the board.
"I figured I would do well at West Middle School because that is where my kids went," Cator said. "But I didn't think I would do this well. I am surprised and pleased."

Louis now runs Emmi Construction, the business his father started. "When it comes to this business, he was a natural," Louis said. "For every problem, there's a solution. That's the way he was."

- Natalie Emmi bathes her husband Anthony in a bedroom of their Beech Tree Road home a few days before he died last July. As cancer spread through Anthony's liver, he became exhausted and his wife often bathed him in bed, where he could rest more comfortably. Their son Louis said it was difficult to watch his father battle cancer. "The hardest part was knowing what the overall outcome would be and watching it happen," he said.
