AUBURN - Emerald Payroll scored four runs in the fourth inning in an 8-5 come-from-behind victory over Casler Masonry in an Auburn Pony League game on Saturday.
Nick Mitchell led Emerald Payroll with three hits, while Justin Valentino and Tommy Herbert had two hits. Jack Bergmaster and Hunter Charles each had a hit. Mitchell, Charles and Kevin Gauthier shared mound duties.
T.J. Shoran paced the offense with two hits, while Matt Netti, Jake Clark, Jeff Gardner and Luke Petrosino each added hits. The team was praised for good defense.
LITTLE LEAGUE
Cody Cottrell had four hits to lead AFLAC over Tom Thumb 18-4.
Luke Colella, Mike Piwinski and A.J. Green (triple) had three hits. Zach LaDouce and Tim Daniels added two hits. LaDouce had eight strikeouts and Kyle McNabb had six.
Matt More, Dominic Petrosino and Josh Sturm each had a hit for Tom Thumb. Sturm, Mitch Corey and Petrosino combined for nine strikeouts.
