The baseball teams from Auburn, Skaneateles and Weedsport will all host Section III playoff games this week, as seedings were released on Sunday.
Auburn (13-7-1) received the seventh seed in Section III Class AA, and will host No. 10 ES-M at Falcon Park Tuesday at 4 p.m. The winner will play at Fayetteville-Manlius on Thursday.
"The committee went strictly by winning percentage, so I can't complain," said Auburn coach Ed Gremli. "I'm very happy we'll have the home field."
Skaneateles (14-5) earned the top seed in Class B for the second year in a row, getting a bye until Thursday, when the Lakers will play the winner between Westhill and Marcellus. Skaneateles, which won the sectional title in 2004, swept both of those teams this regular season.
"We've definitely put last year behind us, and we've worked really hard throughout the regular season to get that top seed," said Lakers coach Michael Flood. "Hopefully it will pay off for us."
Weedsport (8-6) also received a first-round bye, as the No. 4 seed in Class C. The Warriors will host No. 5 Watertown IHC on Thursday.
"It's very nice for us to get where we got," said Weedsport coach Bob Herrington. "I told my guys if we won our last two games, it could make a big difference in where we're seeded, and they did that (winning at Hannibal and APW) and did a great job."
