AUBURN - Mary Bryant Coleman, 85, of Standart Woods Apartments, formerly of Peacock Street, died Sunday, May 15, 2005, at her home.
Born in Sennett, she was the daughter of Jesse and Ella Foster Bryant. A life resident, she was a graduate of Auburn Academic High School and Auburn Business School. She was employed at the former Lincoln Street School as a secretary; when Lincoln School closed, she was employed at Owasco Elementary School until her retirement in 1985. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church, a member of the Cayuga County Educational Secretaries and an avid card player.
Surviving are one daughter: Rita Bohzenhardt (August), of Henderson, Nev.; one son: Paul J. Coleman (Maureen), of Auburn; five grandchildren: Greg Coleman, Lisa Coleman, Mark Coleman, Kevin and Jeffrey Coleman, all of Auburn. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mary was predeceased by her husband, James L. Coleman, in 1984 and by two brothers, Joseph in 1953 and Donald in 1984.
Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Langham Funeral Home, 75 E. Genesee St., Auburn. A Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday at a time to be determined in Holy Family Church. Burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fleming. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to OCAN, 2827 Utica Circle, Las Vegas, NV 89146 or to the Hospice of the Finger Lakes, Corporate Drive, Auburn.
