Lakers roll; Maroons win on Senior Night

SKANEATELES - Carolyn Davis scored four goals and added five assists to lead the Skaneateles girls lacrosse team to a 18-3 win over Bishop Ludden on Monday.
Breanna Haggerty had four goals and one assist, Stephanie Rice added three goals, Libby Johnson had two goals and two assists and Emily Lotkowictz had two goals and one assist.

Maggie Tierney had two goals, Laura Vitkus had one goal and one assist and Katie Schoener added one assist. Danielle Murphy and Whitney Johnson had two saves each.

Skaneateles (15-0, 11-0) hosts LaFayette today.

Central Square 14, Auburn 12

AUBURN - Rosie Scheibel scored three goals and Karley Reynolds added two goals to lead the Maroons.

Flannery Nangle and Shannon Lattimore each scored two goals and one assist. Sara May had two assists and Leah Downing, Ashley Viscardi and Bridget Cool each had one goal. Jolynn Brewer had six saves.

Auburn (2-14) hosts Rome on Wednesday.

SOFTBALL

Auburn 15, Nottingham 2

AUBURN - The Maroons broke open a close game when they plated eight runs in the bottom of the fourth inning en route to their victory over the Bulldogs on Senior Night at Clifford Field.

Gabe Palmieri paced the offense with two hits (double) and three RBI while senior Blair Freeman chipped in with two hits. Senior Jessica Garrett chipped in with a key two-run single, in the fourth inning, and finished with three RBI. Michelle Grassi (double), Amanda Daum, Lee Kehoe, Samantha Whitaker, and Kelly Blumrick each added a hit.

Blumrick and Whitaker chipped in with two RBI apiece while Lindsay Zamniak, Grassi and Kehoe added one RBI apiece.

Winning pitcher Kelley Horbal tossed a three-hitter and struck out nine.

The Maroons' three seniors are Blair Freeman, Jessica Garrett and Lindsay Zamniak.

Trumansburg 5, Moravia 3

TRUMANSBURG - Jen Guido pitched a three-hitter with three strikeouts and one walk. Brittany Mott and Brittany Wade each had one hit.

Moravia is 10-10; 8-8; 5-5.

JV SOFTBALL

Skaneateles 9, Bishop Ludden 5

SKANEATELES - Rene Murphy and Terry Blessing each had two hits to lead the Lakers. Alex Hughes added a triple and two RBIs. Emily Roth pitched a complete game with four strikeouts.

GOLF

Auburn 182, Cazenovia 219

AUBURN - Grace Franceschelli shot a 39 to lead the Maroons. Alix Dusel shot a 45, Joanna Ward 47 and Missy Loperfido a 51.

Auburn (9-0) next plays Thursday against Skaneateles and Nottingham.
