NEWFIELD - Abby Cook allowed Newfield's leadoff hitter a single, after that she was perfect, retiring the next 21 batters to help lead the Union Springs softball team to a 10-0 win over Newfield on Monday.
Cook finished with a one-hitter and 14 strikeouts. The one hit was the only thing keeping Cook from a perfect game.

"Once again Abby had good control and we got some runs for her," Union Springs coach Bob Arliss said.

Bethany Arliss led the Wolves with three hits and three RBIs.

Jess Kneaskern and Kailie Carter each had two hits.

Union Springs (11-6) hosts Groton today.
