Lakers roll; Wolves' Cook pitches no-hitter

SKANEATELES - Carolyn Davis scored four goals and had three assists to lead the Skaneateles girls lacrosse team to a 15-0 shutout of Westhill on Friday.
Stephanie Rice and Emily Lotkowictz each scored three goals and Breanna Haggerty had two goals and one assist. Libby Johnson, Jessica Haswell and Lauren Vitkus each scored one goal. Kelsey Nangle had one assist. Danielle Murphy had four saves and Whitney Johnson added three.

Skaneateles (14-0, 9-0) hosts Bishop Ludden on Monday.

SOFTBALL

Union Springs 10, Odessa-Montour 0

UNION SPRINGS - Abby Cook pitched a no-hitter with 14 strikeouts. At the plate, Cook had three hits including two home runs and a double. Kailie Carter added four hits.

Jen O'Hara and Devon Bowen each had two hits.

Union Springs (8-6) plays Moravia in the County Tournament today.

Moravia 10, Newfield 2

NEWFIELD - Jen Guido pitched six innings with four strikeouts, no walks and two hits.

Leah Hilliard pitched the seventh inning with three walks and two strikeouts. Cayla Wade had three hits and two RBIs and Jamie Kelley added a double.

Moravia (10-7, 8-7, 5-5) plays Union Springs 2 p.m. today at Casey Park.

BOYS GOLF

Skaneateles 199, Cazenovia 218

SKANEATELES - Mike Lemp fired a 35 to lead the Lakers. Wes Evans had a 38, Adam Severance shot a 40, Trey Savage fired a 42 and Matt Christopher added a 44.

Skaneateles (7-3) plays at Bishop Ludden on Monday.

Pulaski 215, Weedsport 231

PULASKI - Brandon Winslow, Marcus Capeder and Chris Kubarek each shot a 45 to pace the Warriors.

Weedsport (1-3) hosts Bishop Grimes on Tuesday.

Union Springs 201, Marathon 243

UNION SPRINGS - Dustin Clark and Jim Schooley each shot a 38 to lead the Wolves. Luke Patterson shot a 40, Matt Cuff a 41 and Nate Gavitt a 44.

Union Springs (9-3) plays at Odessa-Montour on Monday.

Moravia 247, Southern Cayuga 254

AURORA - Ben Shields and Matt Kievit each shot a 46 to lead the Blue Devils. Lou Dusseau shot 49 and Anthony Conastero and Lucas Fedrizzi each shot a 53. Moravia improved to 4-8.

Ben Shields was the medalist with a 41 to lead the Chiefs. Arthur Burt and Jordan Dean each shot a 52. Casey Underwood shot a 54 and Joe Troy a 55.

Southern Cayuga (0-9) hosts Lansing on Monday.

GIRLS GOLF

Auburn 181, Chittenango 209

CHITTENANGO - Grace Franceschelli shot a 42 to pace the Maroons. Joanna Ward a 44, Missy Loperfido a 46 and Alix Dusel a 49.

Auburn (8-0) hosts Cazenovia on Monday.

BASEBALL

Skaneateles 13, Solvay 1

SOLVAY - Dan Bennett pitched a complete game with nine strikeouts, two hits, one walk and one run. At the plate, Bennett had two hits including a three-run homer, two runs and five RBIs.

Andrew Grutka had five hits, two doubles, two runs and five RBIs. Josh Sherman had three hits with three doubles, two runs and one RBI. Mike Perkins had two hits, a double and three runs and Matt Wild had two hits one run and one RBI.

Skaneateles (11-5, 9-1) plays today at Cortland.

Union Springs 8, Odessa-Montour 6

UNION SPRINGS - Doug Morgan drove in the tying and go-ahead runs in the fifth inning to start a five-run rally.

Tony Tabone had three hits (double), and Chris Deleo (double), Ryan Driscoll and Tyler Perkins each had two hits.

Matt Orman pitched a two-hitter with five strikeouts.

Union Springs travels to Newfield on Monday.

Moravia 18, Newfield 4

NEWFIELD - Chris Mott pitched a complete game with five strikeouts, no walks and seven hits to lead the Blue Devils. Cory Langtry had four hits, a double and two RBIs.

Craig Pittinger (double) and Jake Wood each had four hits with three and four RBIs respectively. Jared Hatfield had three hits and three RBIs. Tim Nervina had two hits and a double. Gregg Langtry added a triple and Ryan Conner a double.

Moravia (12-5, 11-2) hosts Watkins Glen today.

TENNIS

Port Byron 4, Manlius Pebble Hill 1

PORT BYRON - Justin Roe and Max Guy eventually won at second doubles 6-7, (10-8), 6-4, 6-4 after a 3:20 minute match. Knut Thode won at first singles, 6-1, 6-0, Marcelo Fonseca won at second singles 6-2, 6-4 and Neale Taylor won at third singles, 7-6, (7-1), 6-2.

Port Byron (12-2) plays Monday at Onondaga.

FRESHMAN LACROSSE

Auburn 8, Baldwinsville 3

AUBURN - Chris Murdoch and Mike Miskell each scored two goals to lead the Maroons. Brendan O'Connor, Grant Krystofik, Chris Clifford and Ryan Button each scored one goal. Kevin Dyer had 14 saves.

JV BASEBALL

Union Springs 17, Odessa-Montour 6

UNION SPRINGS - Calab Lyndecker pitched six innings with six strikeouts, two runs and one walk.

Chris Fleming had three hits, a double, four RBIs and two runs. Matt Ryan had two hits, two RBIs and two runs. Nick Johnston had two hits and a triple and James Benham added two hits and three runs.

Union Springs (5-7) hosts Newfield on Monday.
