MORAVIA - Elinor Bevier Browne, 82, a former resident of the southern Cayuga County area, and New Smyrna Beach, Fla., died March 25, 2005, at her home following a short illness.
Mrs. Brown was born Aug. 29, 1922 in Niles, the daughter of the late Ernest and Eliza Bevier. She had been a resident of Florida since 1977. She was a graduate of Auburn Hospital School of Nursing and Syracuse University, with a bachelor's degree in nursing. She was employed as a registered nurse at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach.
She had also served with the Women's Army Corps during World War II.
She is survived by a daughter, Shirley A. Browne of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; one brother, Charles (Chic) and wife, Barbara, of Skaneateles; a sister, Louise Gilfus of Trumansburg; a sister-in-law, Naomi Bevier of Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Bevier in 1997.
A graveside funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, in Owasco Rural Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
Local arrangements are with the Wade Funeral Home, Moravia.
