RED CREEK - Gregory J. Southworth, 46, of 12147 Route 38, Red Creek, died Thursday, May 5, 2005, in Auburn Memorial Hospital, after being struck by a falling tree.
Born in Syracuse, Greg lived in Weedsport before moving to the town of Victory in 1991.
He was a construction worker for several years. Greg was a Marine veteran, and a member of the LaBuff-Cole American Legion Post 911 of Cato.
He was very dedicated to his wife, children and grandchildren. They meant the world to him. Greg enjoyed camping and the outdoors.
Surviving are his wife, the former Debra Hefti; children, Anthony J. Southworth of Fulton, David Hefti of Voldosta, Ga., Stephanie M. Southworth of Auburn, and Melissa E. Korthas of Red Creek; three brothers, William of West Monroe, Christopher of Oswego, and Raymond Southworth of Camillus; three sisters, Rosemary Blackman of California, Debbie Bowen of Syracuse and Denise Cummings of Liverpool; eight grandchildren.
Services will be 6:30 p.m. Monday, at the Bush Funeral Home, Elbridge. Friends may call from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home, 120 E. Main St.
Contributions may be made for the family in care of Hans and Joyce Hefti, 1854 Briggs Drive, Port Byron, NY 13140.
