Downing leads Stags at Ohio State
COLUMBUS, Ohio - Sophomore Greg Downing of Auburn scored a career-high six goals and added an assist to lead the No. 16 Fairfield University men's lacrosse team to a 14-10 victory over Ohio State in a Great Western Lacrosse League matchup Sunday afternoon.
Downing scored a goal as time wound down to end the first period, and added a second 55 seconds into the second period for a 4-2 lead over the Buckeyes (5-8, 2-3 GWLL) the Stags did not relinquish.
Downing's seven points were a personal best.
