Jordan-Elbridge boys surge in fourth to beat Westhill

ELBRIDGE - The Jordan-Elbridge boys lacrosse team used a 4-0 fourth-quarter run to defeat Westhill 10-5 on Thursday.
Todd Richardson led the offense with three goals, Joe Poppi had two goals and one assist, Rob Humphreys added one goal and an assist, Jeremy Dejohn had one goal and one assist, and Kraig Lubner, Matt Crim and Aaron Guadagnolo each had one goal. Kory Smart added two assists.

Guadagnolo won 90 percent of his faceoffs.

Pat Halinan (eight saves) and Jason Norfolk (three saves) split time in the net.

Jordan-Elbridge hosts Christian Brothers Academy next Wednesday.

BASEBALL

Gloucester Catholic (N.J.) 14, Moravia 0

Gloucester Catholic 5, Moravia 1

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - Matt Vargason paced the Blue Devils, going 4-for-6 on the day. Derek Powers added three hits and Tim Nervina added a double.

Chris Mott took the loss in game one, while Brandon Brown absorbed the loss in game two.

Moravia finish up their trip with a doubleheader today.

Hannibal 18, Port Byron 1

PORT BYRON - A costly second inning that included two hits and five errors cost the Panthers.

Andrew Perkins scored the lone run in the fifth on a RBI from Nick Janusz. Matt Janusz and Mitch David (triple) also added hits.

Port Byron (1-6) travels to Cooperstown today to face Pulaski.

GIRLS TRACK

Fowler 72, Auburn 65

AUBURN - Katelyn Felter won four events for the Maroons.

Felter was victorious in the 400 meters (69.4), the long jump (14-6), triple jump (30-6.5) and the pole vault (6-0).

Amanda Kazanivsky, Felicia Onori, Carrie Lawton and Tiffany Palmer won the 4x800 relay in 13:46.8. Onori tied Elysia Townsend and Stacy Hennick to win the 1,500 in 7:51.7.

Kazanivsky also won the 3,000 in 12:44.8.

Auburn (0-4) competes next at Central Square.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Fayetteville-Manlius 17, Auburn 2

MANLIUS - Leigh Downing and Karley Reynolds each found the net as the Maroons fell to the second-ranked Hornets.

Jolynn Brewer had nine stops in the net.

Auburn hosts West Genesee on Saturday.
