AUBURN - The Auburn girls golf team is off to a 2-0 start after defeating Skaneateles 222-259 on Thursday.
The Maroons were led by Grace Franceschelli, who shot a 49. Missy Loperfido followed with a 49, Marren Hunter fired a 62 and Mary Jane Resty shot a 66.
Katie O'Brien was the medalist for the Lakers, shooting a 43. Sara Karpen shot a 68, Heather Sparrow fired a 73 and Cassie Salisbury followed with a 75.
Skaneateles drops to 0-1.
Auburn is at Christian Brothers Academy on April 26.
BOYS GOLF
Union Springs 210, Odessa-Montour 257
UNION SPRINGS - Luke Patterson led the Wolves with a 37.
Matt Cuff followed with a 41, Dustin Clark shot a 43, Jim Schooley fired a 44, and Eric Hlywa rounded out the top five with a 45.
Union Springs (3-1) hosts Southern Cayuga today.
BASEBALL
Port Byron 6, Bishop Grimes 2
PORT BYRON - The Panthers got their first win of the season.
Andrew Perkins paced Port Byron with three hits (two doubles) and an RBI. Nate Short added two hits and a RBI, and Zach Reyer had a double.
Joe Traver got the win for the Panthers, tossing a three-hitter with four strikeouts, six walks and one earned run.
Port Byron (1-4) hosts Mynderse Academy on Monday.
Groton 12, Union Springs 4
GROTON - Eric Johnson paced the Wolves with three hits (double).
Tony Tabone and Matt Orman (double) added two hits each.
Ryan Driscoll absorbed the loss on the mound, scattering seven hits but no earned runs.
Union Springs (0-4) travels to Lansing on Monday.
GIRLS TRACK
Weedsport 132, Hannibal 9
WEEDSPORT - The Warriors won all 17 events for the easy win.
Chelsea Gibson paced Weedsport with wins in the 1,500 (5:44), 800 (2:40.6) and the high jump (4-8). Gibson teamed with Allison Earl, Kristen Roosa and Colleen MacKenzie in the winning 4x800 relay (12:05.6).
Earl also won the 3,000 (12:46.1), and MacKenzie won the pole vault (7-0)
Kim Gilfus, Whitney Porter, Maria Barbaglia and Allison Beardsley teamed to capture the 4x100 relay in 55.9. Beardsley also won the long jump (13-4), the triple jump (28-5 1/4), Barbaglia won the discus (91-4) and Porter won the 200 (28.9).
Sarah Wignall won the 400 (67.4), Christina Wilkenson won the 400 hurdles (1:22.5) and Katie Sperduti won the high jump (4-8).
Solvay 89, Jordan-Elbridge 52
JORDAN - Ingrid Forward won three events to pace the Eagles. Forward was first in the 100-meter hurdles (17.0), the 400 hurdles (1:19.5) and the shot put (28-6).
Libby Forward won the 800 (2:41.1) and Kristin Raeon won the high jump (4-6).
Jordan-Elbridge (0-3) travels to the Ilion Relays on Saturday.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Jordan-Elbridge 9, Westhill 7
SYRACUSE - The fifth-ranked Eagles were paced by Julie Bush, who had three goals and two assists.
Julia Demuth added two goals, Terry Noll had a goal and an assists, and Kara Humphreys, Ryanne Farrugia and Brittany Pettitt had one goal each. Kaitlin Fuller dished out two assists.
Jordan-Elbridge (5-1) hosts Cortland on Tuesday.
Oswego 13, Auburn 10
OSWEGO - Flanery Nangle and Caitlyn Liccion each had three goals for the Maroons.
Andrea Musso and Karley Reynolds each added two goals and one assist, Caitlin Leone passed out three assists and Shannon Lattimore had one.
Jolynn Brewer had 15 stops for the Maroons.
Auburn hosts Waterloo on Saturday.

Lansing 5, Southern Cayuga 2
LANSING - The Chiefs won in fourth singles and second doubles.
Jeff Piechuta won 6-2, 6-3, and Luke Powers and Jesse Littlejohn were victorious 7-5, 7-5.
Ben Janssen lost a close match in first singles, 3-6, 6-3, 3-6.
Southern Cayuga (1-3) hosts Watkins Glenn on April 25.
