AUBURN - Mr. Robert W. Bunnell, 81, of 16 Wright Ave., Auburn, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at Auburn Memorial Hospital.
A lifelong resident of the area, he was born Nov. 6, 1923, the son of Francis A. and Effie M. Winters Bunnell. He was a graduate of southern Cayuga County schools and was an Army veteran of World War II. He had retired as the production manager of Carhart Photo Labs, with 35 years of employment.
He was a member of St. Mary's Church, Auburn, the American Legion and always enjoyed a good golf game.
Surviving is his wife, Margery De Joseph Bunnell of Auburn; his children, Lawrence Bunnell (Mary Ann) of Auburn, James Bunnell (Nancy) of Clinton, Richard Bunnell (Shari) of San Diego, Calif., Sandra King (Tom) of Auburn, Dennis Bunnell (Cindy) of Union Springs, Robert Hoey of Rochester and Thomas Hoey of Auburn; a sister-in-law, Ann Bunnell of Auburn; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews; along with Margery's six children and seven grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Rosalie Wilson Bunnell; brothers, Wes and Frank Bunnell; and sister, Peggy Cornelius.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 16, at St. Mary's Church, Auburn, with the Rev. Frank E. Lioi, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. today, April 15, at Farrell's Funeral Service Inc., 84 South St., Auburn.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Children's Fund.
