Florence M. Steigerwald

ROCHESTER -- Florence M. Steigerwald, 89, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at St. Ann's Home, after a brief illness.
Predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Robert L. Steigerwald; brother, James Holl; and son-in-law, Joseph V. Moynihan.

Survived by her daughter, Carol Ann Moynihan; son, Robert L. (Kathleen M.) Steigerwald of Burnt Hills; 14 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and three sisters-in-law, Elizabeth and Marie Steigerwald of Auburn and Mary Arthur of Syracuse; many nieces and nephews.

Florence was born in Auburn, and resided for many years at 53 Frances St. and Stryker Apartments in Auburn. She worked in Auburn at Hislop's Department Store and later as a home health care companion. She was a long-time parishioner of St. Alphonsus Church, Auburn.

Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. today, at the John M. Hedges Funeral Home, 1717 Portland Ave., (corner of Portland Avenue and Ridge Road East). Florence's funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. today, at St. Ann's Chapel. Interment in Auburn will be at the family's convenience.

The family wishes to thank the caregivers of the Heritage and St. Ann's Home for many years of compassionate care.
