Coleman is MVP as Cayuga wins tourney
Dashawn Coleman was named the tournament MVP as the Cayuga Community College men's basketball team beat host Finger Lakes 74-61 to win the Mid-State Conference Tournament Sunday.

Coleman finished with 17 points and had 43 for the tournament's two games.

Lamin Zulu led the Spartans with 26 points, seven rebounds and six assists.

Jeremy Neale added 11 points.

Cayuga (20-10) awaits its regional playoff seed.

ASA umpires

to meet Thursday

ASA umpires will hold a mandatory meeting for their election of officers, at the at 6:30 p.m. March 3 at the Knights of Columbus.

New and veteran umpires are expected to attend.

Racquetball, squash tourneys at YMCA

The Auburn YMCA is hosting a racquetball and squash tournament March 4-5.

The tournament is single elimination, and is open to players of all levels. Divisions include men's and women's open, A, B, C, novice, juniors (16 years and under), masters (55 years and above) and doubles.

All U.S.R.A. guidelines will be followed. Lensed eye protection is mandatory; matches consist of two games to 15 points, with a tiebreaker to 11 points if necessary.

Registration forms are available at the Auburn YMCA-WEIU at 27 William St.

The deadline is today. The tournament is sponsored by Pearl Technologies, Daut's Restaurant, Peter's New York Pizzeria and Johnston Paper.

American Legion signups Thursday

The American Legion Post No. 1107 youth baseball league / softball signups will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. March 3 at AJ Smith Elementary School cafeteria in Union Springs.

Ages are from going into kindergarten in September through the sixth grade.

Anyone interested must be in the elementary school district.

Everyone must bring a copy of their birth certificate. Any questions, contact Mike Murray at 889-7172.

Auburn Pony, LL registration March 2

Auburn Pony League and Little League registration is from 5:30-8:30 p.m. March 2 at Seward Elementary.

Children must by at least 8 years old by Aug. 1. All new and returning players must bring a copy of their birth certificate. Contact Beth Sanders at 255-2084 or Tracy Hesse at 253-4476.

Auburn High HOF forms available

Nominations for the Auburn High School Hall of Fame are due by June 1.

Forms are available at the K of C, Kosta's, Lewis Restaurant, Snappers, YMCA, and at the athletic office.
