Lumb, Gomez in finals

SKANEATELES - Mike Lumb and Briana Gomez earned spots in the championship round of the 2005 Byrn's Junior Masters bowling tournament held at Cedar House Lanes Saturday.
Lumb qualified by edging out Todd Moore 585-579 in a boys winner's bracket match. Gomez beat Julie Janusz 544-421 in the girls winners bracket.

Earlier, in the boys loser's bracket, Chris Sears beat Matt Babcock, 612-540. That match was set up when Sears eliminated Andrew Perkins 675-592. The 675 was the day's highest series. Babcock had beaten Kevin Roche, 655-646 in a close match.

Sears will bowl against Moore today for the right to go against Lumb for the title.

In the girls tournament, Becca O'Donnell will bowl against Janusz today for the chance to bowl against Gomez for the championship.

O'Donnell beat Stefanie Spinney 483-440 and Kelley Horbal 543-471 to stay alive. Earlier, Spinney defeated Jackie Bennett 496-482.

The loser's bracket matches for both the boys and girls will be held today at noon at King Ferry Lanes.

The winners go against Lumb and Gomez at approximately 1 p.m. If either Lumb or Gomez lose, the final match will start about 2 p.m.
