Coleman scores 1,000th

AUBURN - Dashawn Coleman scored his 1,000th-career point as the Cayuga Community College men's basketball team beat Jefferson, 74-70 Saturday at Spartan Hall.
Coleman, who finished with 29 points, eight rebounds and three assists, reached the milestone with 6:25 left in the game.

Lamin Zulu added 14 points and five rebounds for Cayuga, which finished the regular season 18-10 overall and 10-4 in the Mid-State Conference.

The Spartans next play at the conference tournament at a time and site to be determined.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Jefferson 52, Cayuga 42

AUBURN - The Spartans dropped their regular-season finale as Shakimba Pierre led Cayuga with 15 points and 14 rebounds. Jessica Hart added seven points and six rebounds.

Cayuga (16-12; 7-7) must await the result of Tuesday's Finger Lakes-Broome game to see if it qualifies for the Mid-State Conference Tournament. A Finger Lakes win gets Cayuga in.
