VICTORY - Gerald J. Calkins, 62, of Bell Road, Victory, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2005, at home.
Gerald was born in Syracuse, on Jan. 13, 1943, the son of the late Raymond and Doris Maud Calkins.
He graduated from the Class of 1962 at Baldwinsville Academy & Central School.
Gerald was a veteran having served in Korea with the Army. He was a resident of Victory for the past 27 years, coming from Meridian. He was employed as a pricing analyst with Carrier Corp., retiring after 36 years.
He was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church of Baldwinsville. He also was a member of the Fire Brigade of Carrier, secretary for the Meridian Fire Department and a former member of the Victory Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Novak Calkins, whom he married Oct. 21, 1978; two daughter, Laura (Loren) Guernsey III of Red Creek, Mary Jeannette Calkins of Skaneateles; one son, Randy Eno of Texas; three grandchildren, Natalie, Philip and Aaron Guernsey; three sisters, Donna Ekross of Baldwinsville, Diane (Eugene) Koprowski of Virginia and Joanne (Sam) Bonaventura of Baldwinsville; one brother, James (Wilma) Calkins of Warners; sister-in-law, Susan (Larry) Hochreider of Pennsylvania; brother-in-law, Michael (Jean) Novak of Binghamton.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Jewell Funeral Homes, 13164 South St., Cato. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 9 a.m. Saturday, at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Baldwinsville. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
