AUBURN - Helen Yaworsky Murdoch, 79, of South Hunter Avenue, died Sunday, Jan. 30,2005, at Auburn Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness. She was the wife of the late John G. Murdoch.
Mrs. Murdoch was a life resident of the Auburn area, the daughter of the late Joseph and Julia Lipak Yaworsky.
She was a former employee of the Auburn school district. She was a communicant of SS. Peter & Paul Church, and a member of the Cymbrak-Fallat American Legion Auxiliary. She was a huge Syracuse University sports fan, and never missed watching their games.She is survived by three sons, John G. ( Lisa) of Dallas, Texas, Thomas J. (Barbara) of Auburn, and Robert A. Murdoch of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Cheryl Sisson, Christopher and Bradley Murdoch.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mary Starowicz of Ellington, Conn., and Eugenia Desmond of Auburn; her brother, William Yaworsky of Centerville, Va.; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband John, who died in 1995, she was predeceased by her sisters, Anne Plis, Stephanie Balash, and Dorothy Colella; and her brothers, John, Michael and Peter Yaworsky.
Funeral services for Mrs. Murdoch will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, from the Plis Funeral Home, and 11:30 a.m. in SS. Peter & Paul Church. Burial will be in Soule Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call from 4 to 7 P.M. today, Feb. 1,at the funeral home, 220 State St. Contributions may be made to SS. Peter and Paul School.
Helen will be most remembered for her warm personality, and witty sense of humor. She will be sadly and greatly missed by her family and friends.
