AUBURN - Richard O'Hare, 82, of 248 North St., Auburn, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, at Auburn Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Throop, the son of the late Clarence and Andrea Robbins O'Hare, and had been an area resident for most of his life. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. Richard was an Army veteran, having served in World War II. Prior to his retirement, Richard had been employed for more than 10 years as a lab technician for Evan Chemetics in Waterloo. He was an avid hunter who enjoyed the outdoors.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, the former Eugenia Conti O'Hare of Auburn; two sons, Thomas H. and his close companion, Terry Bartow, of Auburn, and Lewis and his wife, Donna, of Weedsport; two daughters, Margaret Loperfido and her husband, Joe, of Idaho, and Sally Griswold and her husband, Graham, of Redhook; a sister, Barbara Horning of Auburn; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by a son, Richard J. in 2002; and two brothers, Robert O'Hara and Donald Dennis.
Friends are invited to join the family at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, in St. Mary's Church, for Richard's Mass of Christian burial with the Rev. Steven Lape officiating. Entombment will be in St. Joseph's Mausoleum. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today, at the Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St., Auburn.
