AUBURN - Sharon A. Stryker, 59, of Case Avenue, Auburn, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, at home.
Sharon was a native of Auburn and also resided in Jordan for 17 years before returning to Auburn. She was employed as a licensed practical nurse at Auburn Memorial Hospital for the past 18 years.
Sharon enjoyed gardening and shopping with her sisters. She also enjoyed her grandchildren and having her family together at home. She was always willing to help others. She will remembered for her unconditional generosity, love and thoughtfulness.
Surviving is her loving husband of 42 years, John H. Stryker, of Auburn; one son, Robert J. Stryker of Auburn; three daughters, Lynn M. Harter and her husband, Fred, of Florida, Sandi J. Reed (Chuck Adams) of Auburn, and Penny R. Pomeroy and her husband, Jeffrey, of Cortland; nine grandchildren, Megan, Alyssa, Mitch, Patrick, Cody, Robert, Emily, Turner and Alex; one brother, David Johns of Auburn; two sisters, Donna Barry of Auburn and Bonnie Woodman and her husband, Phil, of Auburn; sister-in-law, Lisa Johns of Auburn; several nieces and nephews.
Sharon was predeceased by her parents, Arlene and Nelson Johns; and two brothers, Jimmy and Terry Johns.
Calling hours were Wednesday, Jan. 26, at the Brew Funeral Home, 48 South St., Auburn. A prayer service was held 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, at the funeral home, with a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 90 Melrose Road, Auburn. Interment was in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fleming.
