OWASCO - Gladys M. Wild, 91, of Owasco, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, at the Van Duyn Home in Syracuse.
Mrs. Wild was born in Camillus, on Sept. 21, 1913, the daughter of the late Herbert W. and Elizabeth M. Coleman Green. In past years she had been employed at the Columbian Rope Co. and also at the Auburn Country Club. Mrs. Wild had been a school bus driver in the Skaneateles School District for many years.
She enjoyed playing cards and along with several of her friends, formed a card club in the Owasco area. Years ago, she was a member of a local bowling league and also belonged to the Home Bureau in Owasco. Most of all, she enjoyed tending to her home in Owasco and the time she was able to spend with her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Wild was predeceased by her husband, Edwin Wild, on Nov. 17, 2000.
She is survived by her daughter, Sonya A. and her husband Robert Sweeney of Syracuse; a son, Donald E. Wild and his wife Alice of Canandaigua; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by a sister, Anna Flanigan of Fleming; three brothers, William Green of Scipioville, Kenneth Green of Scipio Center, and Robert Green (Fran) of Auburn; several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Wild was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Barry; three brothers, George Green, H. Lincoln Green and Raymond "Dutch" Green.
Friends may visit with her family from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, at the White Chapel Funeral Home, 197 South St., Auburn. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Monday, in St. Ann's Church in Owasco, where she had been a parishioner for many years. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fleming.
Those wishing to make memorial contributions, may send them to either the St. Ann's Church Building Fund or to Owasco Volunteer Fire Department Co. 2, in memory of Gladys.
