St. Francis victorious

AUBURN - Nick Bolak scored 16 points to lead St. Francis to a 52-28 win over St. Peter & Paul in an eighth grade CYO game on Sunday. A.J Spinelli added 11 points for the winners.
Scott Chalupnicki led St. Peter & Paul with nine points and Christine Polcovich added six.

St. Mary's defeated Sacred Heart 49-29 behind Tim Locastro's 19 points and Tim Gabafalo's 12. Brian Moore led Sacred Heart with 10 points and Richie Valentino added seven.

St. Alphonsus defeated Holy Family 42-28 as Nicole Schattinger's led with 11 points. Aiden Gunnip and Gabe Zsiros each scored six points. Louis Quill had 10 points to lead Holy Family and Matt Bennett added eight.

St. Francis defeated St. Alphonsus 52-30 as Zach Sawarey scored 13 points. Tony Giannettino and Sean Wayne each scored 11 points. Zsiros scored 14 points to lead St. A's and Schattinger added six.

Richie Valentino scored 14 points to lead Sacred Heart past St. Peter & Paul 57-38. Chalupnicki had 11 points to lead St. Peter & Paul.

5TH-6TH GRADE

St. Alphonsus edged St. Mary's I 17-16. Phil Cooper netted 12 points for St. A's. Matt Covich led St. Mary's with six points and Joe Wilson added four.

Sacred Heart I beat St. Mary's II 22-18 behind Jake Leader's 14 points. Josh Sturm had 12 points to lead St. Mary's.

St. Francis edged Sacred Heart II 22-16. Anthony Pollard led St. Francis with 16 points. Dominic Petrosino, Nicky Fiermonte, and Brian Roe each scored four points to lead Sacred Heart.

Sacred Heart I defeated St. Peter & Paul 19-15. Leader led Sacred Heart with 12 points. Christina Hyrnyk led St. Peter & Paul with eight points.

Pollard scored 11 points to lead St. Francis over St. Mary's I 21-17. Matt Covich and Pat Farrell led St. Mary's with six points each.

St. Mary's II defeated Sacred Heart II 34-19 behind Sturm's eight points. Fiermonte paced Sacred Heart with nine.

MISC.

A group of Auburn sixth graders participated in a basketball tournament in Skaneateles this past weekend and lost in the title game to Marcellus 43-39.

They defeated Port Byron 44-16 and Skaneateles 37-35. Members of the team were Nicholas, Michael, and Anthony Granato, Trever Doan, Mike Ferlenda, Josh Sturm, Brendan Raftis, Andrew Sanders, and Jabari Penda.
