Maurice 'Morrie' Ahearn

AURELIUS - Maurice "Morrie" Ahearn, 81, of Turnpike Road, Aurelius, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005, at his residence.
Morrie was born Oct. 5, 1923, in Meridian, Conn., the son of Maurice Sr. and Ruth Blake Ahearn. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army servicing in the infantry and the Air Sea Rescue. Morrie was employed at the former Sylvania and North American Phillips of Seneca Falls for 34 years and in recent years as a courtesy clerk at the Auburn P & C. He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church of Auburn.

He is survived by his wife, Mary J. Ahearn of Aurelius; two daughters, Marilyn Larsen and her husband, Dale of Montezuma and Martha Iversen and her husband, Allen of Suffolk, Va.; two grandchildren, Joshua Schooley and Maurice W. Ahearn IV; and one great-grandson, Reese Ahearn. Morrie was predeceased by a son, Maurice W. Ahearn III.

Family and friends are invited to call 4 to 7 p.m. today, Jan 3 at the Brew Funeral Home, 48 South St., Auburn. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Redeemer Lutheran Church, corner of Franklin and Prospect Street, Auburn. Burial will be in Throopsville Rural Cemetery, Throop.
