SCIPIO CENTER - Paul R. O'Keefe, 78, of 2755 Center Road, Scipio Center, died Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, at Cayuga County Nursing Home where he had resided for the last several years.
Paul was born in Auburn, Feb. 8, 1926, the youngest son of the late Thomas W. and Frances M. (Kiah) O'Keeffe. He attended Port Byron Central School and served his country in the U. S. Army and U. S. Air Force from 1945 to 1948.
He retired in 1992 after nearly 30 years as a dairy and crop farmer working with his brother-in-law, Alvin Coulson, on several farms in the Wyckoff Road area of Scipio. Previous to that he had been employed at Slvania in Seneca Falls.
He is survived by his son, William of Scipio Center, with whom he had lived, and his son, Dale of Auburn; his only grandchild, Nicole Rose of Cocoa, Fla.; his brother-in-law, Alvin Coulson; a special niece, Diane Pomianowitz and other nieces and nephews, Judy Kent, Dennis O'Keefe, Maureen Edwards, Rosemarie O'Keeffe, Kathleen O'Keeffe and their families; three first cousins, Marie Martin, Helen Blaine and Orrin Martin; many other family friends and a son, Darrell O'Keeffe.
He was predeceased by his wife, H. Irene (Coulson) O'Keefe in 1996; his parents and his siblings, E. Marie, Morris, Frances and Earl O'Keeffe.
Calling hours will be 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Langham Funeral Home, 75 East Genesee St., Auburn with the funeral immediately following. Private burial in Scipio Rural Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Southern Cayuga Ambulance Fund, P. O. Box 7, Poplar Ridge, NY 13139.
