AUBURN - Charles B. Arnold, 69, of 20 Mattie St., Auburn, died Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, at the Matthew House following an extended illness.
Mr. Arnold was born in Moravia on Oct. 4, 1935, the son of the late Bert and Lizzie Ezell Arnold. Prior to returning to Auburn, he had been a resident of New Hampshire and a 20-year resident of Conn. Since 1989, he and his wife, Sharon were the owner-operators of the Mattie Street Dairy. Charlie truly enjoyed the time he spent at the dairy, greeting everyone with a smile and saying good-bye with a joke or two. He will be remembered by the many friends he had made over the years for his sense of humor and his warm friendly personality. Charlie also enjoyed sports, particularly baseball. In the past, he had coached Little League, Babe Ruth League and also spent time umpiring. He was an avid NY Yankee fan and enjoyed bowling.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sharon Moe Arnold; his daughters, Elizabeth Ann Arnold of New Hampshire and Amy Rae Perez and her husband, Benito of Mo.; two sons, Charles E. Arnold of Texas and William Scott Arnold of N. H.; "two and a half grandchildren" Danielle and Andre Perez and expecting Charlise Perez; his sister, Rhoda Durfee of Auburn; a special nephew, Michael Mallory; several nieces, nephews and numerous friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Edith Costa.

Services for Charles will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 63 Kearney Ave., Auburn. Interment will be in Fort Hill Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit the family 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the church and also prior to the service 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, Charlie's family would like to encourage memorial contributions sent to Matthew House, 43 Metcalf Drive, Auburn, NY 13021, in his memory.

Arrangements are with White Chapel Funeral Home, 197 South St., Auburn.
