Sections of Auburn today are dealing with a loss of phone services.
The offices of the Cayuga County Emergency Management Office and the Cayuga County 911 Center said Verizon Communications is experiencing an intermittent phone line problem.

The areas affected are the city of Auburn from South Street west to the city line, including Genesee Street and Clark Street. It may also include some service outside the city.

Residents affected by the phone outage are urged to use a cell phone to report an emergency. If that fails or if there is no available cell phone in the city, they should go to the nearest fire alarm box and activate it.

People outside the city should go to the nearest fire station and activate their local alarm.
